Day Trip

Mike and I got our passports last year so we could go somewhere, well foreign, and then we went to Hawaii (which was fabulous, we just didn't need passports). We finally got our chance to go foreign and use our passports to go to . . . CANADA. We planned for months to visit the Vancouver, British Columbia temple during its open house and our chance finally came. How often does a temple get dedicated within two hours of your home? It is a beautiful temple with giant murals painted and the pacific dogwood carved into carpets and etched in ceilings. It reminded us a lot of the Rexburg, Idaho temple, only smaller. I had to remind myself that is was wonderful that so many people were there, even though it meant a lot of waiting. I guess they had planned for 4,000 people and there were closer to 8,000.

Afterwards, we made it back into the United States easily and went swimming in the Bellingham rec center. It has a kiddie pool and a slide so it is fun for all our family. Last but not least we found Krispy Kreme and discovered half price donuts after 8:00 p.m., and free hats. What a great way to end the day!
